Facing Our Risk of Cancer Emowered (FORCE)
Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by hereditary breast, ovarian, and related cancers.
FORCE accomplishes this mission by creating awareness, supplying information and support to our community, advocating for and supporting research and working with the research and medical communities to help people dealing with hereditary breast, ovarian, and related cancers.
METAvivor
METAvivor is dedicated to the specific fight of women and men living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. At the time of METAvivor’s founding, no organization was dedicated to funding research for the disease and no patient groups were speaking out about the dearth of stage 4 cancer research. While more and more people have taken up the cry for more stage 4 research, METAvivor remains the sole US organization dedicated to awarding annual stage 4 breast cancer research.
METAvivor exists to sustain hope for those living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer (MBC). We are a volunteer-led, non-profit organization that funds vital research to help improve the longevity and quality of life for MBC patients. Passionately committed patients ourselves, we rally public attention to the urgent needs of the MBC community, help patients find strength through support and purpose, and make every dollar count as we work with researchers to extend and improve quality of life for MBC patients.
Women's Breast and Heart Initiative
Many women in our community are not getting screenings because they do not have access to adequate healthcare resources, and by the time they are diagnosed with breast cancer, the result may be fatal. Consequently, too many women in our community are dying from breast cancer unnecessarily because their disease is not detected early. The same holds true for women with heart disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death among women — and one of the most preventable. Prevention and early detection plays a key role in fighting heart disease. The support and contributions of our volunteers, partners and donors enables WBHI to reach an average of 11,000 homes annually to provide breast and heart health education, and access to free screenings for breast cancer and heart disease to women whose disease may otherwise go undetected. Through our unique door-to-door campaign, WBHI can change the course of breast cancer and heart-related deaths in our community and prevent at-risk women from succumbing to their disease unnecessarily.
Yodeah Know
Ashkenazi Jewish men and women are disproportionately more likely to carry hereditary genetic mutations that can markedly increase their lifetime risk of cancer. Most people are not aware, and most will not have a family history. Yodeah’s mission is to educate and facilitate cost-effective testing for hereditary cancer genetic mutations in the Jewish community. Yodeah’s goal is to save lives. Knowledge is power. Knowledge saves lives.
